What is the AI tag on a ChatGPT image?
OpenAI embeds C2PA Content Credentials — a signed manifest naming the generator (for example 'OpenAI Media Service API' or 'gpt-image') — and often writes software strings into EXIF/XMP. The tag is metadata stored in the file, separate from the pixels.
Why does it matter?
Social platforms and some apps read that metadata and show an 'AI-generated' or 'AI info' label. Removing the tag stops the file from carrying that claim on its own.
How to remove it

What it can't do
