Checker questions
What does the AI metadata checker do?
It inspects an image and reports what embedded metadata it carries — C2PA Content Credentials, EXIF, XMP, IPTC, PNG text chunks and JPEG comments — without modifying the file.
Is the checker private?
Yes. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded. Nothing is stored.
How do I check if an image has AI tags?
Drop the image into the checker. If it reports C2PA, an IPTC AI source type or generator strings, the file carries an AI tag. You can then clean it to remove those markers.
Does the checker tell me if an image was AI-generated?
It reports embedded metadata and provenance only — not whether the pixels were AI-generated. An image with no metadata may still be AI-generated, and a real photo with an AI edit can carry a tag.
